The Triplett RWV10G LAN and Cable Verifier represents an advancement in cable and network testing technology. Unlike conventional testers, it employs digital circuitry and testing techniques. It is compatible with UTP and all Ethernet devices, performing traditional TIA568 cable verification (length, opens, shorts, split pairs, wire map) for unshielded twisted pair (UTP). Additionally, the RWV10G conducts advanced crosstalk, timing, and cable parameter tests to determine a UTP cable's category (CAT3, CAT5, CAT5E, CAT6, CAT7) and speed capability (10M, 100M, 1G, 10G). It can also test UTP cables with live data using network devices like hubs, switches, and PCs, analyzing links and data from these devices. The RWV10G performs single-sided tests for advertised speeds (10M, 100M, 1G, 10G and duplex) and inline tests for negotiated speeds between devices. Its circuitry offers 1 nanosecond resolution. The RWV10G also supports coax cable testing, measuring cable length, detecting opens, shorts, wiremap, and pinpointing faults. Coax cables can be toned with the toner feature, and test results can be stored in the RWV10G's memory.
