Siglent SDM3065X-SC Digital Multimeter Overview
The Siglent SDM3065X-SC builds on the SDM3065X 6½-digit digital multimeter platform by adding the SC1016 scanner card for multi-point measurement capability. Like the standard SDM3065X, it provides 2,200,000-count resolution, dual-display operation, True-RMS AC voltage and current measurement, math functions, local and U-disk storage, USB and LAN connectivity, and SCPI remote-control support. The key difference is the integrated scanner card, which allows the SDM3065X-SC to measure multiple signals or test points through a multiplexer configuration, making it especially useful for R&D burn-in, production testing, and applications that require repeated measurements across multiple channels.

SCPI remote-control compatibility: Supports automated measurements and command compatibility with mainstream multimeter workflows.
SDM3065X-SC model option with SC1016 scanner card: Adds multi-point measurement capability for R&D burn-in and production testing applications.

Capabilities of the SDM3065X with the SC1016 Scanner Card
Channel configuration: The scanner card provides 12 multi-purpose channels plus 4 current channels for expanded test coverage.
Supported scanner-card functions: The card supports DCV, ACV, DCI, ACI, 2-wire resistance, 4-wire resistance, capacitance, frequency, diode, continuity, and temperature measurements using RTD and thermocouple sensors.
Voltage channel limits: For scanner-card DCV/ACV use, the voltage range is specified as less than 125 VAC or 110 VDC.
Current channel limits: DCI/ACI is available on CH13 through CH16 and are specified for the 2 A range, with continuous current less than 2.2 A and accuracy of ±(3% of reading + 0.02% of range).
4-wire resistance channel pairing: The scanner card supports 6 pairs for 4-wire resistance, using CH1 through CH6 as input channels paired with CH7 through CH12 as sense channels.
Switching performance: Channel-to-channel switching time is typically 280 ms, supporting automated sequential measurements.
Switching ratings: The card specifies max switching voltage of 250 VAC or 220 VDC and max switching power of 62.5 VA or 30 W.
Contact and insulation specifications: The SC1016 specifies contact resistance of 75 mΩ max at 6 VDC, 1 A, minimum insulation resistance of 1 GΩ, and contact life greater than 100,000 operations under listed conditions.
Connection type: The scanner card uses clamp terminals and supports #24 AWG wire size.
Best-fit applications: With the scanner card, the SDM3065X-SC is better suited than the base SDM3065X for R&D burn-in, automated production testing, and other workflows that require multiple measurement points.

Siglent SDM3065X-SC FAQ
Does the Siglent SDM3065X-SC support automated testing and remote control?
Yes. The SDM3065X-SC includes USB Device, USB Host, plus a LAN interface and supports remote operation through SCPI commands. These features make it practical for automated production test and remote data collection. What is the difference between the SDM3065X and SDM3065X-SC?
The SDM3065X-SC includes the SC1016 scanner card, while the standard SDM3065X does not and can't be added later. The scanner card provides multi-point measurement capability with 12 multi-purpose channels and 4 current channels, supporting functions such as voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, frequency, diode, continuity, and temperature measurements for applications that need multiple test points. These usability features help simplify measurement setup, data handling, and daily bench operation for laboratory, development, calibration, maintenance, and production test users. Can the SDM3065X-SC do 4-wire resistance measurements, and are the probes included?
Yes, it fully supports 4-wire Kelvin resistance measurements. However, the standard package only includes a standard pair of 2-wire test leads and alligator clips. You must purchase specialized Kelvin clip test leads separately to utilize the 4-wire front panel terminals. How do you log data to a PC, and is the software free?
Yes, the software is free. Siglent provides EasyDMM software for controlling the meter and logging data directly to a PC. The unit also supports standard SCPI commands, allowing you to easily integrate it into custom Python, LabVIEW, or MATLAB automated test scripts using the built-in USB or LAN ports.
