The Metcal PCT-100 Pre-Heater targets heat to improve speed and efficiency in high thermal demand applications, including lead-free processes. Designed for both SMT and through-hole hand soldering, the PCT-100 uses convection air heating to preheat a PCB, enabling better soldering, improved process control, and increased productivity.

The PCT-100 Pre-Heater Convection Tool increases heat volume without raising the temperature, allowing assembly tasks to be performed at the appropriate peak temperature without distorting the board. It is ideal for thick boards as well as smaller ones, such as those found in cell phones and PDAs, focusing and delivering hot air exactly where needed. After use, the fan continues running without heat to cool the board.

The system is user-friendly: simply plug it in, turn it on, adjust the heat, and it’s ready to go.
