Optimum® SmoothFlow™ Tapered Dispense Tips

Ideal for use with medium-to-high viscosity fluids, Optimum® SmoothFlow™ tapered dispensing tips apply thick or particle-filled fluids with ease and accuracy.

The tapered design of these dispense tips provides a smooth flow for viscous fluids and resists clogging when dispensing particle-filled materials. A higher flow rate allows you to lower air pressure and shorten dispense times, which can help improve yields.

Optimum® SmoothFlow™ tapered tips are manufactured with clean, blunt ends to ensure precise, repeatable dispensing.

Why Choose SmoothFlow Tapered Tips?

• The smooth taper and wider diameter make even thick pastes flow more smoothly.

• The wider diameter enables a tapered tip to dispense the same amount of material in a fraction of the time compared to a general-purpose tip. This improves yields and productivity in the dispensing application.

• Tapered tips can be made with UV-blocking additives that prevent UV light from reaching the material inside. This stops UV-sensitive adhesives from curing inside the tip.

Applications

• UV-Cure Adhesives

• Gel Cyanoacrylates

• Solder Paste

• Sealants

• Epoxies

• RTV Silicones

• Thick Pastes and More

Key Features

• Translucent tapered dispense tips are made of a special polyethylene that contains a light-blocking additive to help protect UV-sensitive fluids.

• Rigid, opaque polypropylene-molded tapered dispense tips provide protection for light-sensitive fluids.Color-coded hubs for easy gauge identification.

• Each tapered tip is manufactured and quality-tested to be free of molding flash – bits of plastic that can block fluid flow and cause inconsistent deposits.

• Manufactured in the USA in silicone-free facilities for industrial-grade quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best dispensing tip for a cyanoacrylate?

Gel-type cyanoacrylates are also subject to clogging, but they present the additional challenge of higher viscosity. To ensure smooth flow of these thicker materials, look for polyethylene tapered dispense tips.

Why is a tapered tip best tip for dispensing medium- to high-viscosity fluids?

• The smooth taper and wider diameter make even thick pastes flow more smoothly.

• The wider diameter enables a tapered tip to dispense the same amount of material in a fraction of the time compared to a general-purpose tip. This improves yields and productivity in the dispensing application.

• Tapered tips can be made with UV-blocking additives that prevent UV light from reaching the material inside. This stops UV-sensitive adhesives from curing inside the tip.

Can I use any dispensing tip with any fluid?

Tapered polyethylene tips are the best choice for thick pastes or particle-filled materials. With gradual narrowing, tapered tips prevent sudden fluid compression during dispensing that can change the material properties of the fluid.
